ProofPilot is a browser extension that proofreads selected text using AI. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the extension accesses, how it is used, and what is stored.
When you right-click selected text and choose ProofPilot, the following data is sent to your chosen AI provider:
The text is sent directly from your browser to the AI provider's API. ProofPilot does not operate any servers and does not relay, log, or store your text.
Depending on your configuration, your text is sent to one of:
How these providers handle your data is governed by their respective privacy policies and API terms of service. When using the API (as opposed to consumer products), both providers state that API inputs are not used to train models by default.
The following settings are stored in your browser using chrome.storage.sync:
This data stays in your browser and is synced via your Chrome profile if sync is enabled. It is never transmitted to ProofPilot or any third party other than the API providers listed above.
